Grammar
Connecting descriptions with "and"
Use で after a describing word like 静か or きれい when you want to add another description. It works like saying "and" between two qualities. For example, 静かできれいです means "it's quiet and pretty." You drop the です or だ ending and use で instead to keep the sentence going.
Pattern
[describing word] + で + [next part]
Take the describing word and add で directly after it. 静か → 静かで きれい → きれいで 元気 → 元気で Then continue with the next description or idea.
Examples
- Think of で as "and" for words like 静か and きれい. You can chain several together: 静かできれいで広いです means "quiet, pretty, and spacious."
- This pattern works with words like 静か, きれい, and 元気. It does not work with words like 大きい or 高い - those connect differently.
