like / fond of

な-word

A describing word that needs な when placed before what it describes. 静かな部屋 means “quiet room.” These change differently from い-words.

私は魚が好きです。
watashi wa sakana ga suki desu — I like fish.
何が好きですか。
nani ga suki desu ka — What do you like?
私も果物が好きです。
watashi mo kudamono ga suki desu — I also like fruit.

私はご飯が好きです。
watashi wa gohan ga suki desu — I like rice.
この店のご飯は安いです。
kono mise no gohan wa yasui desu — This shop's rice is cheap.
毎朝ご飯を買います。
maiasa gohan wo kaimasu — I buy rice every morning.
