this year

Noun

今年は日本に行きます。

kotoshi wa nihon ni ikimasu — I will go to Japan this year.

今年の夏は暑いです。

kotoshi no natsu wa atsui desu — This summer is hot.

今年は忙しいです。

kotoshi wa isogashii desu — I am busy this year.

去年 (きょねん)

last year

去年、旅行に行きました。

kyonen, ryokou ni ikimashita — I went on a trip last year.

去年の冬は寒かったです。

kyonen no fuyu wa samukatta desu — Last winter was cold.

去年、日本語を始めました。

来年 (らいねん)

next year

rainen, nihon ni sumimasu — I will live in Japan next year.
