This Person, That Way

Using この・その・あの to modify nouns; polite ways to refer to people and directions.

You are at a crowded event trying to find a specific person, Ms. Sato. You ask a staff member, pointing generally, 'Is that person (あの人) Ms. Sato?' The staff member then politely directs you, saying 'She is over that way (あちらです).'
